| Each summer PLU (Professional Learning Unit) credit courses are offered for teachers in various locations around the state. The classes are three days in length for 2 PLU credits. The fee includes all resource materials, lunch each day and a field trip. The purpose of the course is to train teachers to use agriculture as a teaching tool for teaching in all subject areas. Click HERE for a PDF with June & July 2008 dates and locations. Trainers can come directly to your school to conduct in-service training for your teachers. The minimum time frame is 3 hours. WORKSHOP FORMAT Length of Workshop: Half-day in-service training workshops Can be expanded to full-day workshops Can be designed to fill SDU credit needs Training Audience: Workshops can be conducted for individual schools or they can be designed for lead teacher teams from several schools who will then return to their respective schools and train their colleagues.
