Commodities/Marketing
The Commodities/Marketing Department serves to represent and strengthen the Georgia Farm Bureau Federation in all commodity related areas.
The primary goal of the Commodities/Marketing Department is to improve net farm income and assist Georgia farmers with issues that affect their livelihood. Equally important is the promotion of Georgia commodities, implementation of GFB Policy and effective marketing for our farm members.
GFB has twenty Commodity Advisory Committees that represent the diverse commodities in our state. The volunteers who serve on these Committees help advise our organization in the areas of their expertise.
Our department provides marketing opportunities for grains, soybeans and corn, as well as other feed ingredients for our members to help ensure that our growers have access to the best prices available. You can even receivedaily futures information sent directly to your cell phone through our Futures At A Glance messaging service.
We also help promote agriculture at the most grass roots level to the consumer, by helping our farm markets promote their various products through our Certified Farm Market Program.
To a lesser degree, but still vitally important, we also maintain a close relationship with other agricultural groups and provide assistance to each of the Georgia Agricultural Commodity Commissions.
From helping our farm members market grain to having direct input on legislative issues; we are dedicated to creating a better and broader agriculture industry in Georgia.
