North Georgia Growers Invited to Farm to Fork Event

The North Georgia Technical College Foundation invites local producers of agricultural products to participate in the First Annual Farm to Fork Event to be held at the Currahee Campus on Saturday, August 11th. The event is designed to showcase locally grown farm products, support a thriving agricultural economy, and encourage the public to purchase fresh, healthy foods. The Farm Portion is scheduled from 2-7 p.m. with set-up for farmers and local product vendors beginning at noon.

In addition to the Farm Marketplace for local product sales, there will be music, children's activities, demonstrations, and guest speakers who will present information about the value and availability of fresh, healthy foods, preservation and preparation techniques, and the importance of farming to the local economy. Visitors will receive a brochure listing all of those displaying and selling locally produced items with information concerning their products, hours of operation, location and directions to their farms.

In order to secure a space, you will be asked for a $10 donation to the NGTC Foundation Scholarship Fund and a silent auction item for the Fork Event that evening. The deadline to register is July 12, 2012. For more information call (706) 754-7714 or contact cbrown@northgatech.edu.
