GFB agents remain committed to offering service

Recently many Insurance Companies have begun marketing their products through alternative sources such as banks, telemarketing, and the world wide web. This decision is usually made because of the cost associated with maintaining an agent distribution system. In an attempt to become more profitable, companies are abandoning the traditional distribution system and opting for less costly ways of selling their products.

You are probably wondering if Georgia Farm Bureau will ever consider adopting any of these alternative methods of distribution. While I can’t speak for any future Georgia Farm Bureau leaders, I can assure you that the present generation of leaders feels very strongly that an agency distribution system is still the best possible means of distributing Georgia Farm Bureau insurance products to its members.

Why do our leaders feel so strongly about this issue? The reason can be summed up in one word: service. The main goal of the Georgia Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company is to provide the highest level of service possible to our membership. We strive to maintain a professional agency force that’s charged with the responsibility of giving superior service and good, sound insurance advice.

In addition to providing service and giving advice, agents are available to the membership in times of crisis. They are there to give the assurance that a house destroyed by fire can be rebuilt; that a damaged car can be repaired; that a breadwinner’s salary can be replaced. These are just a few of the reasons why Georgia Farm Bureau chooses to maintain a traditional distribution system.

I trust that you, as a result of your relationship with your local agent, are able to add to this list.•
