In this episode of the Growing On Podcast, we discuss the end of the 2020 legislative session here in Georgia. Despite one of GFB's top priority issues not making it to the Governor's desk, Georgia agriculture still had a great year! We break down this year's session with State Affairs Coordinator, Alex Bradford. 

Also on this episode, Jay, Katie, and John talk child safety on the farm this summer by discussing what kind of safety lessons they learned growing up on the farm. 

Lastly, we speak with the owner of Red Oak Lavender Farm. She tells us how the farm came to be and the challenges that come with growing lavender here in Georgia.

In this episode of the Growing On Podcast, Katie talks with GFB President, Gerald Long about the I Farm. I Vote. campaign that was started back in 2018. They talk about the goals of the campaign and why it's so crucial for anyone that is impacted by agriculture(everyone) to research candidates and cast their vote in elections.

Also on this episode, John speaks to FSA Administrator, Richard Fordyce about the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program. They discuss the ins and outs of the program and discuss how farmers and producers can find out if they're eligible for payments. 

Last but not least, with harvest season right around the corner, Jay speaks with Allen Poole, Director of the Georgia Governor's Office of Highway Safety about farm machinery on the roadways and how drivers need to be paying extra attention this time of year.
