Georgia Sod Becomes Super Bowl Field -- Jacksonville, Fla., may be the host city of Super Bowl XXXIX, but the football field that drew America’s attention on Feb. 6, was Georgia grown. Washington County sod producer Phillip Jennings grew the turf developed by Madison-based Pennington Seed.

The 66th Annual GFB Convention -- Volunteers and county chapters were recognized ar the Annual Georgia Farm Bureau Convention, held on Jekyll Island Dec. 4-7, and Governor Sonny Perdue gave the keynote address. Georgia Farm Bureau recorded the highest membership gain in the nation during the past year as 28,192 new families joined the organization, bringing total membership as of Nov. 30 to 412,686.
