Georgia Farm Bureau Elects New Leadership -- Georgia Farm Bureau voting delegates elected Zippy Duvall, of Greene County, to serve a two-year term as GFB President during the organization’s 68th convention in December at Jekyll Island.

Voting delegates also elected the 2007 GFB Board of Directors.

GFB honors state program winners, burns note -- The best of Georgia Farm Bureau’s county programs and volunteers were recognized during the annual awards program at the 68th Annual GFB Convention.

Members also celebrated the full payment of the mortgage for the organization’s headquarters building.

Head into the woods -- Visit the Macon Museum of Arts and Sciences before April 22 to hike through the museum’s Focus on Forestry exhibit.

Georgia’s forests are the main theme of the exhibit, but it also includes a life-size replica of a redwood tree trunk that visitors can walk inside to learn about the anatomy of this national treasure.

Super Bowl sod Georgia grown-- The Atlanta Falcons didn’t make it to the Super Bowl in Miami, but Georgia still played a large role in this year’s game, thanks to two Georgia turf grass companies that teamed up to grow the sod used for the Super Bowl field.
