
GEORGIA PEACH COBBLER
(Note: this recipe uses three separate portions of sugar)
1 quart peaches, sliced
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup self-rising flour
1/2 cup sugar
3 tbsp oil
1/2 cup milk
1 cup sugar
1 cup hot water
Arrange peaches in an 8x12-inch baking dish. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup sugar. Mix flour, 1/2 cup sugar, oil and milk in bowl. Pour over peaches. Sprinkle with 1 cup sugar. Pour hot water over all.
Bake at 375º for 1 hour or until light brown. Place dish on cookie sheet while baking as it may bubble over.
Serves 8.
