PECAN CHEESE TARTS
16 ounces sharp Cheddar Cheese, finely shredded
1 cup chopped pecans
3/4 cup mayonnaise
1/2 teaspoon hot sauce
1 garlic clove, minced
1/8 cup grated onion
Combine first 6 ingredients and refrigerate until ready to place in wonton wrappers.
Place wonton wrappers in lightly greased miniature muffin tins, and bake for 4 - 5 minutes in a 350º oven. Remove and set aside.
Place approximately 1 tablespoon of cheese mixture in each wonton cup, then top with a small dollop of strawberry preserves. Remove from muffin tins and serve.
Shape any remaining cheese mixture into a ball and serve with crackers.
Makes approx. 48 appetizer tarts.
*Either round or square wonton wrappers will work.
