This amendment would allow the State of Georgia to create the Georgia Next Generation 9-1-1 Fund, which would provide funding for upgrades to the state’s emergency response infrastructure. By voting YES, the state Legislature would be allowed to create a dedicated funding mechanism for the Georgia Next Generation 9-1-1 Fund.

SHALL THE CONSTITUTION OF GEORGIA, FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROTECTING FAMILY FARMLAND, BE AMENDED SO AS TO INCREASE THE MAXIMUM ACREAGE TO QUALIFY FOR ASSESSMENT AND TAXATION AS A BONA FIDE CONSERVATION USE PROPERTY FROM 2,000 ACRES TO 4,000 ACRES?”

Conservation Use Valuation Assessment, CUVA, eases the property tax burden on production farmland, timberland, and conservation properties, incentivizing landowners to keep that land in agricultural production or conservation. By voting YES the maximum acreage allowed per individual in CUVA would be increased from 2,000 acres to 4,000 acres, supporting family farms and keeping farmland in production.
