A Message from President McCall

As Georgians prepare to head to the polls this November, we have an important opportunity to make the voice of agriculture heard. The choices voters make will have a lasting impact on our communities, our farms, and the future of our state. When farmers, ranchers, and rural communities make voting a priority, we help ensure agriculture remains front and center in the minds of those elected to serve. Showing up at the ballot box is one of the most effective ways to advocate for the issues affecting our families, farms, and small towns. When rural Georgia participates, we remind elected leaders that agriculture is the backbone of our state's economy and way of life and deserves a strong voice in the decisions that shape our future.

Georgia Farm Bureau continues the “I Farm. I Vote.” campaign to encourage farmers, rural communities, and everyone who enjoys the benefits of agriculture to get to the polls and elect leaders who understand and support our industry. Through Farm Bureau’s grassroots network, we have the ability to make a meaningful impact in elections across the state and help shape the future of Georgia agriculture. To do this, it is important for members to engage at the county level with their communities and elected officials, demonstrating the strength and importance of agriculture in every corner of our state.

This election guide is designed to help you make informed decisions this November and serves as a resource for educating others about the issues and offices on the ballot. Georgia Farm Bureau is a nonpartisan organization, and we do not endorse candidates through the “I Farm. I Vote.” campaign. Rather, we use this initiative to educate voters and elected officials about the issues that matter most to agriculture and rural Georgia.

Our goal is to ensure that state and federal leaders understand the tremendous impact Georgia agriculture has on our economy, our communities, and our way of life. We cannot accomplish that without your involvement. I encourage you to be engaged throughout this election cycle, take the time to learn about the candidates seeking your vote, and encourage your friends, neighbors, and fellow community members to do the same.

Elected officials cannot effectively represent you unless they know you and understand the challenges and opportunities facing agriculture today.
