Fourth annual Georgia Farm Bureau Spring Shootout raises $30,000

The fourth annual Georgia Farm Bureau Spring Shootout, benefitting the Georgia Foundation for Agriculture and presented by Georgia Farm Bureau, took place May 15 at Cherokee Rose Sporting Clays & Helice in Griffin.
More than 90 participants formed 23 teams, bringing together experienced shooters, first-time competitors, and supporters of Georgia agriculture for a day of friendly competition on the course while raising $30,000.
The competition featured awards for Top Overall Shooter, Top GFB Team, Top Team (1st-3rd Place), and Junior Shooter divisions.
For the first time, GFB Insurance District 10 was unseated as Top GFB Team by the Spalding County Farm Bureau team, Stihl Shot, which also earned 3rd Place overall. GFB Insurance District 10’s Team “Powell” finished in 2nd Place, while Team “Camp's Killers” claimed Top Team - 1st Place overall. P.J. Shipley of Camp’s Killers also earned Top Overall Shooter honors.
In the Junior Shooter division, Jason Ludeman of Villa Rica High School took home first place. GFA is proud to recognize the Sub-Junior division, with Brian Bowlder earning first-place honors.
Top Shot Award Sponsor, Alliant Insurance Services, provided cash prizes and plaques to top teams and shooters. Plaques were provided by Keystone Memorials in Elberton.
Additional prize packages were generously provided by Piedmont Brewery in Griffin, Cherokee Rose Sporting Clays, and Blanche Farms in Bolingbroke.
Congratulations to Brent Moye, winner of the Yildiz Legacy HP shotgun raffle.
Mammoth Arms, a Griffin-based manufacturer, provided a special post-lunch demonstration. Guests had the opportunity to watch a flamethrower demonstration, try their hand at using the flamethrower, and view a variety of locally crafted products.
The 2026 Spring Shootout raised more than $30,000 to support the Georgia Foundation for Agriculture’s mission to prepare the next generation of Georgia farmers and leaders for success in agriculture.
