Georgia Farm Bureau (GFB) increased its overall membership for the first time in 11 years, pushing member numbers to 216,621 statewide for GFB’s 2025-2026 Membership Year, which ran from Sept. 1, 2025, to Aug. 31, 2026.

“For years, we have said that membership is the lifeblood of our organization,” said GFB President Tom McCall. “Today, I am proud to say that Georgia Farm Bureau is alive and well. Every member strengthens our ability to be the voice of Georgia agriculture and to stand up for the farmers, consumers and communities we serve.”

The membership increase qualifies Georgia for the American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF) quota state classification. The membership increase also contributes to GFB’s eligibility fornational awards AFBF presents at its national convention.

GFB is a grassroots organization, growing its strength as the voice of Georgia farmers from its membership. Members at the local level initiate the organization’s policy – the guidelines it follows when representing farmers’ position on policy issues in Atlanta and D.C.

Across the state, 112 county Farm Bureaus increased their membership.

“This took all of us,” McCall said. “Our county presidents and boards, county office staff, agents, volunteers, Sales and Field Services team and employees across the organization came together around a common goal. Every phone call, every renewal, every conversation with a neighbor and every extra effort mattered.”

GFB, which represents Georgia farmers and the major commodities they grow and the consumers who eat them, continues to offer a collection of member benefits that far exceed the value of the $35 annual membership dues. While GFB welcomes the chance to offer its popular insurance products, insurance enrollment is not required to be a member. Benefits include travel discounts, special deals on health and wellness programs, discounted family entertainment, banking services and a comprehensive insurance program.
