Your children are out of school, and you may be racking your brain for ideas to keep them busy during the summer without breaking the bank. Did you know June is National Zoo and Aquarium Month? We’re lucky that in Georgia we have both. Check out their conservation efforts with these events going on at Zoo Atlanta and the Georgia Aquarium this summer.
Zoo Atlanta
Virtual Visits
Don’t want to leave your home, but still want to let your children experience the zoo? Check out their Panda Cam. With weekly updates and a live look inside the panda’s habitat, you can’t go wrong.
Also check out Zoo Atlanta on YouTube, they have tons of virtual field trip videos that your children will love.
Toddler Adventures
Designed for children ages 0-5 and their favorite grownups.
Each month discover a new morning journey, learning with Adventure Cubs. Learn about new animals with games, crafts, stories and singalongs. For evening adventures check out Twilight Tots.
Don’t forget to check out the Treetop Tykes Trail, it’s an all new ropes course experience for visitors under 48 inches tall.
For the Artist
Feeling creative? Check out VanGoat, the talented goat who paints. This unique experience is available on Saturday afternoons.

Camp H20
The Georgia Aquarium has several summer camps opened to children 5 to 13 years old. The camps run from 9AM to 3:30PM Monday through Friday throughout the summer. Children that attend will get to explore the diverse organisms at the Georgia Aquarium, from tiny brine shrimp to massive sharks, and the chance to visit all the galleries they offer.
