From Georgia Cotton Fields to Front Doors

Did you know that Georgia was the first colony to produce cotton commercially? It was planted in Savannah back in 1734. Georgia’s cotton history extends to the first major textile mill built near Washington, Georgia in 1811. Our state’s footprint on the cotton industry extends to present day where we rank third in the country in overall cotton production. Our top cotton producing counties in Georgia are Dooly, Colquitt, Worth, Mitchell and Bulloch.
So, while those outside of Georgia think we’re only known for one particular commodity and hail us as the peach state, our farmers are hard at work producing more than just peaches. To highlight our Georgia farmers and their contribution to the cotton industry as a whole, we’ve put together this wreath that is sure to impress your neighbors while honoring our state and its mark on the cotton industry.

No glue is needed for this showstopping wreath, no need to heat up the hot glue gun, or risk the inevitable burn. This wreath comes down to proper placement, and patience to get it just right. Start out with a natural grapevine wreath and several natural dried cotton stems. We used about ten for this wreath. Then start placing the cotton stems in the wreath, wrapping them around. Place more stems where you see holes in the wreath.
To finish the wreath off you can add a bow or a monogram. Make it your own and hang it proudly on your front door.
